Grace Yasumura is a PhD student studying early-twentieth-century Central and Eastern European Modernism with Dr. Steven Mansbach.  She received her BA in Peace and Justice Studies from Wellesley College and her MA in Art History from the New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. She is particularly interested in the relationships between art and politics, with special attention given to (inter)national identity formation, issues of gender, and the problems of urban composition and public space.
