Meet the Collaboratory’s Two New 12-Month Graduate Assistants

Thursday, July 21, 2016

At the beginning of July Hannah Schockmel and Edel Spencer began their graduate assistantships in the Collaboratory. Between them, Edel and Hannah will provide support in the Collaboratory from 8 until 4 Monday through Friday, from classroom support to helming the production of image orders.

Hannah, of course, is an experienced hand in the Collaboratory, having served as a D.I.G. Fellow for several semesters. Among the many projects on which she likely will engage this coming year, Hannah already is expanding the contents of an Omeka website she began last fall: Gods, Saints, and Heroes: An Art History Resource. Be sure and check it out, and, more importantly, direct your students to it as a resource for their papers!

Edel is new to the Collaboratory and to the Department. She comes from the iSchool, where she is pursuing a Masters in Information Management. Edel attended the second annual digital art history workshop week this past May (Wading in DAH Water), and impressed with her energy, curiosity, and fresh disciplinary perspective. Already she is helping Quint forge ties with faculty and students in the iSchool, so watch for exciting developments in this area.

Be sure and drop in to say “Hi.”
